Lip Pierce

From all times, there’s an age in the life of each of us that resumes at a single word: “ADRENALINE”. And that period of time is the teenage. All of us thought that when we were 14-15 years old, the world was ours. When you are a teenager you think that no one can refuse you anything. That’s why, at this age, teens try to get in the public eye by doing all type of crazy things, like dangerous skating, slangy language, “bad boy attitude” etc. Some of them find their body the best way to show others his personality. And so they appeal on tattoos and…piercing. From ancient times, people wanted to change their appearance and to decorate their bodies. In this way, the body-piercing was invented.

They say that this technique is over 5000 years old. Then, the reason was different than today. In that period of time, people were piercing their skin to prove the social statute. For example, the Romans were piercing their ears to show richness and luxury. People who didn’t have any were considered poor. The Aztec and Maya civilizations were wearing gold jewelry in their lips. For Central America tribes, this body technique was considered a saint ritual. Nowadays, the piercing became more like fashion, loosing its main meaning. Young people pierce their ears, nose, belly-button, tang or lips. Many teenagers think that a pierce will demonstrate others his extravagant personality. First, we have to know that this procedure, even if it seems very simple, has many risks that we must be aware of. The lip piercing, like the others, needs to be done in a hygienic environment, with syringe needle that you only use once. That’s why it is hardly recommended that, if you want this type of body jewelry, you go in a specialized saloon. There are people that know very well the procedure and will protect you from infections.

The lip pierce is considered less dangerous and has a low risk of infection, thanks to the help of your own saliva. They say that our drool is the best and handy disinfectant people have. The drool acts naturally, by moisturizing the inside part of the lip, and so the pierced place recovers faster. Even so, a good hygiene it is recommended, so that you don’t have the surprise of an infection. If you pierced your lip or tang, you must avoid spicy plates and food products based on milk. You should also use a mouthwash, so that you stay protected from bacteria that could cause bad infections to your mouth and to your pierced lip too.
