Natural Treatments For Dark Lips
The problem of dark lips affect a lot of people nowadays, caused by either excessive smoking, UV radiation, intake of coffee or tea or the usage of cosmetic products which have a poor quality, but let’s not forget about the allergies or the dryness either. There are a lot of ways to prevent this “disease” if we can call it that but if we already got a problem there are various natural treatments to regain the former color of it.
Before treating the skin the first thing should be to get free of the problem that makes our lips darken; quit smoking, reduce the amount of tea and coffee, discontinue to use that particular cosmetic product that you used, remove the makeup every night before going to sleep, all of these will improve and make the healing process act faster. We should also consider what we eat, it is advised to avoid spicy food or ready-to-eat food, instead choose fresh green vegetable and fruits which are full of vitamins, good for our entire organism, milk products, whole grains, cereals and sprouts.

The right quantity of consumed water would also help to free our organism of the toxins that we already accumulated. Fortunately there are a lot of natural treatments created especially to cure the darkness of the lips, but first we should do a gentle, mild exfoliation preferably every night after we brush our teeth, with the toothbrush, to free our lips of the dead skin. The second step would be “bleaching” our lips out for which there are a lot of methods:
- Applying natural bleach like lime juice or apple cider vinegar;
- Glycerin combined with honey will not only help to restore the color but will also make our lips softer and seem more full;
- A paste prepared out of banana or unflavored yogurt will also help, but the time until the lips will regain their old color will be longer, but if we apply it before going to sleep and leave it on overnight the healing process will be shorter;
- A few minutes before showering apply toothpaste on the lips;
- A paste made out of almond oil, almond milk and cream made out of milk should be left on the lips for at least an hour;
- A paste made out of lemon juice, graham flour, yogurt and honey should be left on the lips for at least half an hour;
- Other useful natural “products” include pomegranate, beetroot and coriander juice, fresh coconut milk or cream from curds with saffron.

You can find a lot of other recipes too, but you can use the one that you think it is the easiest to prepare yourself, but don’t forget about using a lipstick or lip balm with at least SPF 15 or higher to prevent your lips from the UV radiation and keeping them properly moisturized is also vital (you can use a lip balm, Vaseline or a little ghee) it will also create the illusion that your lips are lighter than they really are.
